Marriage

Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Marriage was instituted by God from the beginning mot by man. Adam and Eve can teach us many things about marriage. For starters is should be monogamous meaning a man should only have one wife one woman he shares his life with.

The Second thing we can learn is Marriage is between one man and one woman. Not two men or two woman but one man and one woman. Homosexuality is wrong in the eyes of God.

Next we learn that Husbands and Wives are to be unified both physically and spiritually they should be glued to each other. This implies Marriage is for life and should not be entered into lightly.

Lastly we learn that the man is to be the head of the wife, The woman was created to be a helper for the man. The woman is to submit to the man and follow his lead.

Marriage was instituted by God, and he has given us specific guidelines to follow now its up to us to follow them.

The lord is my Shepherd

Psalms 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want.

what a wonderful and comforting verse. I take great joy in knowing I am a sheep in the lords pasture.
I have raised animals for a long time and I just think about how much love care and attention I give my animals and I know that God gives us so much more. As long as we are his sheep we have everything we need we will want for nothing. He provides for our every need. Isn't that a wonderful thing to never have to worry because we know that God is taking care of us. We are his sheep and he is our good Shepherd!

God does not give us more than we can handle

God does not give us more than we can handle

I Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
We all have trials and temptations in our life. Some may be minor everyday things, and some may be big life changing events. The most important thing to remember when going through life trials is that God is always there with us, He is faithful in him we have strength and security. God knows exactly how much we can take. sometimes likes problems overwhelm us. we can Take comfort knowing that God will not allow us to suffer what he did not know we could handle. God is faithful and caring he does not give us more than we can handle. When life becomes to much all we have to do is turn to God in prayer and he will give us a way to escape so that we may be able to bear all our trials and temptations.

Committing our day to God

Committing our day to God

Proverbs 16:3 Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.
We all have ideas about how our life should go. Even now we are making plans for the future an agenda for the day, we are constantly planning our lives. God wants us to commit our day to him. To put all our work and plans into his hands. he is willing to take all our concerns and tasks, and carry them for us to completion. When we place our confidence in God we never have to worry again. When we put our day in Gods hands we never have to worry. God knows what our hearts long for. All we have to do is turn our day over to him and he will turn and ordinary day into something extraordinary!

The Love of Money

The love of money

I timothy 6:10 For the love of Money is the root of all evil; Which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Having money being rich is neither a good thing or a bad thing. It's the attitude towards riches and money that is good or bad. Money itself is not the problem it's the LOVE of Money. coveting money letting that need for money control everything we do is what leads us away from our faith away from God. This can only bring us sorrow and pain. Instead of focusing on Money we should be focused on our Gifts from above, on Gods love and mercy. We should be focused more on how we can better serve God instead of making money our god. Having money is not wrong it's the LOVE of money that drives us away from God

Doing Good Deeds

Doing Good deeds
Matthew 6:1 Take heed that you do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

When we do good deeds it should be because we want to, because it makes us feel good to help someone. We shouldn't do it to gain recognition before man. God wants us to give freely and spontaneously and not to worry about if anyone sees what we do. our reward will be in heaven not here on this earth. God sees what we do we don't need the approval of man. As Christians we are to give, not in order to receive a reward, but to show our love for God. Lets make sure the next time we are giving that we are doing it for the right reasons and with the right attitude!

My God is Always There

My God is always there!

I don't just believe in a God, I believe in a God that is always there! proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

God sees everything we do, Hears everything we say. Nothing escapes his watchful eyes. He is everywhere. He sees the good and the bad. He compassionately watches the good and he is always there to lend aid when necessary. How wonderful it is to know that I serve a God who is in every place!

God is on our side!

God is on our side

If God is on our side, who can be against us? Psalms 118:6 The lord is on my sid; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? We don't have to be afraid of what man can do to us as long as we have God on our side. He will stand shoulder to shoulder with us. we have no need to fear what man can do to us. It's a great feeling knowing God is on our side. All of his might and power are with us against our enimies!

to be content

to be content

I timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. God wants us to be content with the things we have, but it seems like that is the hardest thing for some people. There is always something we have to have that we think is going to make life better something that will make us happier. Only God can bring us true contentment and happiness. Look around at what you have and be content with it. stop wanting so much more. Contentment with Godliness brings great pleasure and harmony.

getting angry

We all get angry it's part of human nature it's how we deal with that anger that matters. Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. The power for good or evil that lies in the human tongue is awesome! We have a choice every time we open our mouth to speak. we can either use it for good or evil. We can encourage and build someone up, or discourage and tear them down. we can use soft words that often times can defuse a bad situation and calm an angry heart. Harsh words will only cause more anger and can make a bad situation worse.

We all have a choice. will we use our words for good or evil? will we defuse the situation with soft words or cause more anger? what choice will you make?

The bible is our light

Psalms 119:105 They word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. God's Word (the bible) is our guiding light through the darkness of this world. If we ever get lost all we have to do is turn to the bible, to God our guiding light and he will light our path and show us the way.  So many times we get caught up in worldly things and lose our way from God. It is so nice to know that he has left us a light to follow through his word. We can never completely lose our way when we have God's word.

Being Content

Most people have one big problem; they don’t know how to be content with what they have.  I too am guilty of not being content. (Philippians 4:11   Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned in whatsoever state I am to be content.) I find that I often times overlook all the wonderful things I have and focus on the things I want or don’t have instead.  It makes for a very unhappy life when we always think about what we want and not about the things we have.  I have learned that it is better to be content with what you have.

Be content with what God has given you, what he has allowed you to have. Be content with where you are at in your life with what God is doing in your life even when you think you should be doing something else. God has a plan for our lives, we don’t always know what that plan is but we have to trust that God knows best and be content!

Ambassador for Christ

We are ambassadors for Christ!( 2Corinthians 5:20   Now then we are Ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.)  Everything we do should reflect Gods love and kindness. We are representing him every day. When we leave the house we should be thinking how can I be a good Ambassador for Christ today? What can I do that lets people see God through me? We need to remember that other people are watching everything we do. In every situation we need to ask ourselves what would Jesus do? When we do what is good and kind and right we are being good ambassadors for Christ.
